The New Rules due out January 2019

The new Rules of Golf will go into effect on January 1, 2019. In March of 2018, the new Rules of Golf will be announced. Rule books, which will also include some Decisions on the Rules of Golf, will become available from the United States Golf Association sometime in the fall of 2018. Anyone interested in attending a one day Rules of Golf Seminar hosted by the Southern California Golf Association introducing these new rules needs to go to the Southern California Golf Association's website to sign up. Sign ups begin on March 1, 2018. These seminars will be scheduled in the fall of 2018 and in the spring of 2019. The cost is $50 and includes lunch. The volunteers of the San Clemente Men's Golf Club who staff the Tournament Committee and the Rules Chairman will be reimbursed for the cost of their attendance by the Club. The soonest and closest seminar to San Clemente will be given on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the Big Canyon Country Club.

The USGA Rules of Golf Seminars which last three days covering the new Rules of Golf will also commence in the fall of 2018, but the closest venues for the seminars in the fall will be either Las Vegas or Phoenix. A USGA Rules Seminar is planned for Southern California in the spring of 2019, but the exact dates and location are yet to be determined.
