Etiquette

Although I've written about etiquette before, it's always good to take a fresh look and re-dedicate yourself to making sure you are aware and considerate of others on the golf course.

Grabbing that bag of chips and crunching away while your partners are hitting, not so good…

Spitting sunflower seeds carelessly all over the green without the thought that the next group, and the next group, and the next group, and on and on, might be a little upset they have to clean their line of your inconsideration to putt…

How about taking a divot, and never giving a thought about the next person that has to play out of that giant hole you just walked away from…

Do you think that slamming the flagstick into the hole because you're angry after you missed that last putt might punish that helpless, defenseless little cup that just did you so wrong? Or, have you given thought to the possibility that your actions damage the lining and width of the cup, and the integrity of the playing conditions for the people behind you…

Do you know that when another group is on the tee, it's not considered polite to drive your cart right up next to them, especially if they are teeing off?

Look, we all make mistakes when we play-we are human, and golf is about as hard as any game ever invented, but if you just try to be aware and considerate of others, this game that we share, will reward you in ways that you never saw coming.
