REPORT OF CITY GOLF ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING (Nick Azzolini & Dick Veale)

  1. Good news: The city's sale of the Trap and Skeet Range is completed and the golf course will receive a windfall of somewhere in the neighborhood of $500K. About $325K of that is to go to repair of the cart paths.
  2. Their will be repair coming to he sprinkler heads. They are old and many are not working properly. Also new water distribution regulators and software will be installed to allow for better water management. We are currently paying approximately $300K per year for water.
  3. Save the date of February 28. That is the date of San Clemente's 90th birthday. On that day and that day only green fees will be the same as they were in 1928.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Adopt a Highway: Aaron was absent but many Board Members volunteered to take care of the area.
  2. Still no notification to purchase $5.00 buy-in for the Hole-in-one club during a tournament.
  3. Replacement of Closest to the Hole markers. Nick had some info on a company that made these markers. Dave will investigate and either report back or buy one new marker.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Team Play budgets: It was decided to pay for the green fees for the visiting teams for both Saturday and Thursday teams. This will include both practice and match green fees up to a maximum of $4,000.00.
  2. There was a discussion about the new tournament software, TM Club. Kurt suggested that the 3 tournament directors and Ed Pernal get together and try to develop all the different tournament formats in the new software. A tournament director could then "clone" one of these tournaments for his use.

ADJOURNMENT:

There being no further business for discussion, it was moved, seconded, and approved to adjourn at 5:00 pm.

Next meeting, February 13, 2018

Respectfully Submitted,
