TREASURER'S REPORT ( Jeff Hooper )
Hooper reported that as off August 31, 2017 there was $19,409.71 in the checking account and $2001.00 in the savings account. Income for the month of June equaled $881.42 while expenses were $2394.35. The Board accepted the report unanimously.
See attached treasurers report.
HANDICAP REPORT (Aaron Washington)
Aaron Washington was absent. There was a brief discussion about TSSK. The membership has become comfortable with the program and is aware of the equality it brings to our tournaments.
RULES (Ed Pernal)
Ed discussed the manner in which the Rules are interrupted on the Pro tour vs. Amateur events. For one thing the PGA tour Rules officials see the same players week after week. Also the players are out there trying to make a living by playing for a lot of money. These and other factors influence the officials to be a tad more lenient.
GREENS REPORT (Nick Azzolini)
Nick stated that overall the course is in good condition. The 2nd,9th, 13th and 15th tees have been leveled and re-sodded. The 2nd and 9th are open, the 13th and 15th are still healing.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT (Frank Schneider)
Frank reported that we have 640 members with 111 of those being Associate Members.

SATURDAY TOURNAMENT (Jeff Remmele)
September 9th - Individual Stroke Play
60 players, $879.00 paid out,
45% of the field in the money.
- Adopt a Highway: Aaron was absent but many Board Members volunteered to take care of the area.
Hole in One Club (HIOC): More advertising is needed. Poster on the desk and 1st tee for tournaments was a suggestion. Putting a notice by the posting computer and in the e-mail notification of starting times.
- Closest to the Hole Prizes: A prize increase was approved in the last meeting to $20.00 for Closest to the Hole. Discussion of how to handle the increase when the tournament uses both the blue and the white tees. The discussion also included how to pay for the increase without lowering the overall prize money. Kurt had increased the percentage of the club's subsidy to the prize fund from 40% to 42% and that covered the increase.
It was suggested that when we use 2 tees the blue tee prize should be lowered to $15 because there is just one flight competing for the prize while there are two white tee flights competing for their prize. Dave pointed out that the Treasurer's Report showed that we had almost $9,000.00 more in the checking account this year than last and therefore we should increase the club's subsidy from 40% to 50% and all Closest to the Hole prizes would be covered and overall prize fund would increase as well. A motion was made to increase the subsidy to 50%. It was seconded, voted upon and approved unanimously.
- Nick has secured OC Tavern for our Annual Meeting on December 8th. We will have a room, podium and mic. Food will cost $20.00 per person and we will possibly be given Happy Hour prices on drinks. The overall cost saving will be around $3,000.00.
- The San Clemente Women's Golf Club has requested that the San Clemente Men's Golf Club purchase new Closest to the Hole measuring devices. It was pointed out that one of the devices is in poor condition. It was decided that our club would look into replacing that one.
MOTION: Ed made the motion and seconded by everyone to adjourn the meeting at 5:05 PM
Next meeting October 10, 2017th, at 4:00 pm
